My primary motivation behind becoming a Kumon Instructor in Dubai was my experience of working with Kumon in London. There I worked for two years as an Assistant Instructor with Kumon at the Sloane Square and Hampstead study centres.  During this time, I was amazed at the number of children who were successfully completing work above school grade level. The most rewarding part of my job was sharing the joy of learning that children experienced as they progressed through their worksheets. I have always enjoyed being an educator and over the past 20 years – across 4 countries, I have worked with children in various capacities both in full-time teaching jobs as well as volunteering roles. I have learnt to appreciate that each child is unique in the way they interact with their learning environment and in how they respond to the instructional cues presented to them. I like to keep this in mind as I try to understand each child’s individual learning needs. I believe that simple solutions are the best and Kumon offers a structured yet simple answer to learning needs of children by putting them first and beginning with the basics. I consider Kumon as an enabler to children’s growth as it is designed to build their skills and self-confidence as they progress on their own, unique learning journey.
